Food, Fitness and Forward Thinking December 2018

December 13, 2018

I love Holiday gatherings and the way food brings all of us together. We always have a variety of traditional as well as vegan and/or plant-based dishes for everyone to enjoy. Vegans or plant-based eaters  coming to your holiday get together this year? Surprise and delight your family and friends with these simple ingredient conversions from dairy to vegan. Happy Holidays and Cheers to a New Year!

In a 1-cup measuring cup, add lemon juice or vinega.

The condensed milk will thicken as it cools.

A primed sensory system is alert and capable.
Reset and reboot your sensors  every morning and after stressful activities. When you have a stressful life or event your vision narrows and gives you focus. However, this reduces our field of vision and can lead to accidents or injuries. Staying calm and seeing beyond your peripheral will allow you to gracefully float through daily stressors. Life should be challenging not difficult! We want stress the makes us better not stress that breaks us down or destroys. As you operate daily in a stressful world, with things to do, and things to be done, our eyes carry a heavy workload. Learn to reset your eyes just as you would calm down by taking a deep breath.
Morning Reboot – Follow the method daily!
1. Close your eyes, but not before you read the rest of this.
2. Set a timer for 60s, maybe do this first. 🤷🏽♂️
3. Take a deep breath while rubbing your hands together. Do it vigorously so you’re building some heat.
4. With your palms facing you and the meaty part of your thumb placed just under your eye, begin to gently see-saw your hand on your eyeballs and massage them.
5. Lastly, take your thumb and gently work around the occipital bone encasing your eye. Little taps with your pointer finger work great as well! Be gentle and make it relaxing.
