Happenings at DTLV By Diana Edelman http://dtlv.com/2017/06/14/elevated-reset-takes-cannabis-next-level/
Times, they are a’changing. Just ask James Wong, founder of The Reset Project, a lifestyle events and education company that helps individuals reset their mind, body and spirit.
On June 8, Wong, the man behind Downtown’s Sunday Reset, launched his newest program, Elevated Reset. True to Wong’s MO, the weekly events focus on health and fitness. But, this time, there’s another element added to the mix: cannabis.
The event, taking place every Thursday from 6:30-8 p.m., features innovative and easy ways for people to incorporate medical cannabis, along with locally-sourced produce and herbs, to help repair and rejuvenate the body.
There isn’t just one goal with Elevated, according to Wong, there are many, with the most obvious being creating normalcy around medical cannabis and healthy living.
“There are several generations of our population that use medical cannabis and still keep it undercover,” he says. “I want the moms, professionals, dads, executives and athletes to be the examples of medical cannabis instead of ‘Joe and Jane Stoner.’”
Elevated Reset partners with Kerry Clasby, aka the Intuitive Forager, who provides organic fruits and herb-infused waters at the event; Health Elevated’s Emma Pietzrak, who creates fitness, nutrition and wellness programs; and Oasis Medical Cannabis, which delivers progressive education and medicine to support the curriculum.
Wong launched Elevated in part to help the local business community—and to extend a giant middle finger to corporations. “If we want to rebel and have our actions reverberate and move Big Food, Big Pharma and Big Corporations, one of the most effective weapons is choice,” he explains. “We can choose to shop at locally-owned businesses, buy food from local farmers and stop using pharmaceuticals and start using nutrition as medicine.”
Elevated isn’t the place for people looking to get stoned, Wong points out. While micro-dosing is practiced at times, Elevated is designed for those who want to learn about medical cannabis and the plant-based lifestyle, and who want to create healthier habits.
